Free entry means two things in Berlin: either the party costs nothing at the door, typical for bars with a DJ, gigs with a party afterwards, open airs and many weekday nights, or the Friendslist has a free tier, usually until a certain hour, like ‘free until midnight’. Both are on this page, and every event says which applies. What it does not mean: guaranteed entry. As always, the door has the last word.
With the free Friendslist tier, timing is everything: arrive after the window and you pay the regular price. Allow for the queue and come half an hour early. Signing up is free, needs no account, takes up to three plus-ones and sends a QR code by e-mail, but only until the deadline shown on each list. For parties that are free without a list, the rules are simpler: come early, bring ID, and expect the door to slow things down once it is full.
