Berlin clubs tonight: how to find a party and get in
Updated 5 October 2026·4 min read
It is evening, you are in Berlin and you want to go out – but you do not know where. Good news: there is always something on tonight, and most of it is one search away. Here is how to find a party, how the door works and how you get home.
Finding a party tonight
Start with parties tonight: everything listed there runs tonight, with club, start time, entry and minimum age next to each event. Planning ahead? This weekend, Friday and Saturday have their own pages, and free entry collects the nights that cost nothing at the door. Each listing links to the event page with line-up, address and route.
Narrow down by music: techno, house, hip-hop, Afrobeats, drum and bass, Latin or 2000s each have a page. Or by area: the big techno and house clubs sit along the Spree in Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg, Neukölln is bars and basement clubs, Mitte more hip-hop and R&B. The clubs overview shows every venue with its next dates.
Presale, door or guest list
Three ways to pay for entry: presale means buying a ticket beforehand – at big parties often cheaper than the door, and it secures your entry when the night sells out. Door means paying at the entrance: no commitment, but at a full club no guarantee, and usually the higher price. Smaller parties often have no presale.
The third way is the guest list, on friendslist.de called Friendslist. It is free, needs no account, just name and e-mail, plus up to three friends. The QR code comes by e-mail; every list has a sign-up deadline and a waiting list when full. friendslist.de does not sell tickets; ticket links lead to the promoter. Details: guest list guide.
How the door works
Berlin doors have a reputation, but they are not random. They want people who come for the music and will not disturb the night. What helps: small groups, not a crowd of ten, arriving sober, knowing roughly who is playing, staying quiet in the queue. What does not help: arguing. A no is a no, the next door is ten minutes away.
Bring ID – national ID card or passport, the original, not a photo. Almost everything in Berlin is 18+, some nights 21+; the minimum age is on every listing. Many clubs ban photos and put a sticker over your camera at the entrance – take it seriously. Dress code: techno and house clubs have none, hip-hop and R&B nights are often smarter.
What time to go
It depends on the music. Techno and house nights start late: before midnight little is going on, it fills between 1 and 3 am, many clubs run until morning. Hip-hop, R&B and mainstream parties start earlier – doors around 11 pm, peak before 2 am, earlier end. The time on a listing is when doors open, not your arrival time.
One exception to ‘later is fine’: the guest list. A perk like ‘free until 0:30’ means exactly that. If you are on a list with a cut-off time, factor in the queue and arrive half an hour earlier than you think – and check the time on the event page before you leave the bar.
Cash or card
Do not assume anything. Many Berlin clubs take only cash, some only cards, many both – it differs from venue to venue and sometimes even between bar and coat check in the same club. Check the club page or the event before you leave, and bring enough cash for entry and coat check either way.
Coat check is mandatory almost everywhere and costs extra, drinks cost more than in a bar. The cash machines near clubs are crowded at night and charge fees – get cash before you head over. What entry costs and how to pay less is in the guide to entry prices.
Getting home
On Friday and Saturday nights the U-Bahn and S-Bahn in Berlin run all night – you get home at 4 am without a taxi. On weeknights night buses take over along the U-Bahn routes until the trains start again. The regular ticket is valid at night; there is no special night fare.
Taxis wait outside the bigger clubs, ride-hailing apps work across the city. Every event page here links the route in Google Maps or Apple Maps – in both directions. Plan the way home before you head out, keep your phone charged and agree on a meeting point in case someone gets lost.

Common questions about this
Is 1 am too late to go out in Berlin?
No. For techno and house, 1 am is when it only just fills up. Hip-hop and mainstream nights peak earlier – there, be in by midnight.
Do I have to buy a ticket in advance?
Usually not. Most parties sell at the door while the club is not full. For big nights with presale, a ticket secures your entry – or use the guest list where there is one.
Do Berlin clubs take cards?
Some do, some are cash only, a few card only. Check the club or event page and bring some cash to be safe.
Can I still get on a guest list tonight?
Often yes. Every list has its own deadline, on the event. Sign up with name and e-mail, show the QR code at the door and arrive before the perk's cut-off time.
