Going out in Berlin over 30: where, when and what to know
Updated 5 October 2026·4 min read
At 30 or 40 nobody in Berlin is too old for a club – but what you want from a night changes: different music, an earlier start, less queuing. Over-30s and over-40s parties are built exactly for that. Here is where and when they typically run, what to know about guest lists and presale, and which alternatives work if ‘Ü30’ is not your thing.
What makes an over-30s party
‘Ü30’ (short for ‘über 30’) at the door means a minimum age of 30, ‘Ü40’ accordingly – how strictly it is checked depends on the promoter; the door usually wants to see ID anyway. The point is less the age than the mix: the music comes from the 80s, 90s and 2000s, plus charts, hip-hop and disco, and the crowd is more relaxed than at a student party.
The format is more event than club night: many over-30s parties run as a series every few weeks in the same club or an event venue, with a fixed name and a crowd that knows each other. In the friendslist.de calendar every date shows club, time, entry price and minimum age – so you can tell quickly whether the night is made for you.
When and where over-30s parties happen
Almost always at the weekend: Friday and above all Saturday are the nights for over-30s. On weekdays such parties are the exception – people over 30 tend to have other plans on a Tuesday. In return they start earlier than the techno scene: doors often as early as 9 to 11 pm, the floor is full by midnight, and for many the night ends between two and three.
The venues are mixed: clubs that normally play techno or house and let in a different crowd one Saturday a month, classic dance clubs in the west and in Mitte, event venues and halls rented for the night, plus open-air spaces and boats in summer. Because the venues change, it pays to search for the series rather than the club.
Guest list and presale
Many over-30s parties use a guest list – and often the perk only runs until a certain time, such as ‘free until 11 pm’ or ‘reduced until midnight’. For over-30s that fits well, since the night starts early anyway. On friendslist.de you sign up without an account – name, e-mail, up to three plus-ones – and get the confirmation with a QR code by e-mail. Every list has a deadline; if it is full, you can join the waiting list.

Common questions about this
How strict is the minimum age at over-30s parties?
Each promoter decides – some check closely, others treat ‘Ü30’ more as a description of the crowd. The door wants to see ID almost everywhere in Berlin anyway.
What time do over-30s parties start?
Usually earlier than other club nights: doors often as early as 9 to 11 pm, full by midnight. The exact time is shown on every date in the calendar.
Are there over-30s parties with a guest list?
Yes, at many series. The perk often only runs until a certain time, so come early. Under parties with a guest list you see every date where the Friendslist is active.
Can I buy tickets for over-30s parties on friendslist.de?
No, we do not sell tickets. If there is presale, the link on the event page takes you to the promoter.
